Maya's Method How the Practice Works With the Awakening
The work meets the awakening in the middle of the day. The practices that train awareness begin with the simplest things: attention is brought back from its outer loops into the inner space — to the breath, the sensations of the body, and presence. Then the observation deepens: emotions are watched as they come and go, thoughts as a stream, and the roles a person plays are recognized. And the practice stays grounded — through the body, the movement, and the connection with the Earth — because, as Maya says of those who open early, "you especially need a process to root yourself, to ground yourself."
Meeting What Was Hidden
"And then, through recognition, through meeting ourselves, meeting our darkness, meeting our ignorance, with fears, anger, rage — that is, we learn to accept this, we learn to transform this, we learn to integrate this, and the connection with oneself begins."
Maya Mandala, conversation on conscious development In her programs the descent is walked in practice — through meditation, movement, and the observation of the roles — and the meetings with fear, anger, and pain are the material. What was identified with is seen, and what was hidden is integrated.
Then comes the conscious choice: Maya describes the moment of standing as "being witness, being observation" — and at the same time living fully and deciding how to participate. "I consciously make my choice of what to live through, what to go through, and what to participate in" — and the path becomes co-creation, even art. The ground stays the body, and the safety: as Maya teaches in practice, "you are never alone" — the connection with the higher is kept, and the Earth holds the walk.
