The mandala, in Maya Mandala's practice, is something to move through. For more than 30 years the dance has taken the circle's structure into the body — sacred geometry moving through the spine, balancing right and left, earth and sky — and her teaching has carried the symbol from art into living experience.
The word itself is older and wider than any single tradition: "mandala" is Sanskrit for "circle," used across Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Shinto as a tool for meditation, spiritual guidance, and establishing sacred space.
