Ask the Body What It Needs
The choice begins with one honest question: what does this body need? A restless body needs motion to settle; a tired body needs rest; a fast mind needs the body as anchor; a settled body can sit directly. The body is the first teacher, and its answer is more reliable than the fashion. The practice that suits the body is the practice that will happen — and the practice that happens is the one that works.
Maya Mandala teaches this as the first principle: attention is carried by the body, and the practice must fit the carrier. The body awareness that the practice trains is also the instrument of the choosing — the body's restlessness, stillness, and exhaustion are data. Listen first; choose second. The door opens where the body stands.
