"Energy" is a word that divides people. For some, it means something vague — mystical, unprovable, something to believe in or dismiss. In Maya Mandala's practice, energy is simpler than that: it is the felt sense of aliveness in the body. It is what rises when a person breathes fully, what drains when they are depleted, what moves through the spine during conscious movement. Maya has worked with this directly for over 30 years — and her approach is grounded in what a person can actually feel, not what they have to believe.

Her practice works with energy through three channels: the body in movement, the attention directed inward, and the voice-guided stillness of seated meditation. The combination — body, attention, presence — is what allows a person to sense energy as a real, navigable part of their experience.
