The exhaustion of a parent who gives everything and feels nothing back is real — and in Maya Mandala's teaching it is more than a matter of rest. Behind it often stands an agreement made long before the children: to please mom and dad, to carry what the lineage gave, to be the one who does all of it.

Maya has taught for over 30 years that burnout is the place where an unconscious obligation meets a life that runs on it. The practice works with the agreement: what was taken on, whose it was, and what of it truly belongs. Where the old duty ends, the body and the attention return to the present — and the parent stops carrying what was never theirs to carry.
