Sexuality is often treated as a separate, contained topic — something to fix, avoid, or leave to specialists. In Maya Mandala's teaching it's treated differently: as one expression of how alive a person is in their whole body, carrying the same pain, violence, and suppression that show up everywhere else in a life, and capable of the same kind of healing.

This is sensitive territory, and it deserves careful grounding — in Maya's own direct work with the body, and in the real research and historical scholarship, covered below, that independently confirm much of the same ground.
